Overview

The Civil Engineering Department is one of the pioneering departments since the inception of the college in 1963. It is engaged in imparting quality education and producing outstanding graduates through qualified faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure. The department offers a 4-year B.E. (intake 120) and 2-year M.Tech. programme in Structural Engineering with intake 18. It has been recognised as a Research Centre by VTU since 2003 and as a QIP Research Centre (Ph.D.) by AICTE, New Delhi since 2012, and is a State Resource Centre for training in Earthquake Engineering under NPCBEERM. The department has organised conferences, seminars and workshops, fetched research grants worth ₹183 lakhs, and provides consultancy services for various government and private agencies.
