Welcome to the Department of Information Science and Engineering at Basaveshwar Engineering College. The department is committed to providing quality technical education, fostering innovation, and promoting excellence in teaching, research, and professional ethics. We strive to equip our students with strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, and lifelong learning skills to meet the evolving demands of the IT industry and society. With dedicated and experienced faculty members, state-of-the-art laboratories, industry collaborations, and a research-oriented environment, we encourage the students to explore emerging technologies and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Department Highlights
- Established in 1999, offering a 4-year B.E. programme in Information Science and Engineering with an intake of 180.
- NBA-accredited B.E. programme under the autonomous, VTU-affiliated institute.
- VTU-recognised Research Centre (established 2020) across image processing, wireless sensor and vehicular networks, IoT and cloud computing, and machine/deep learning.
- Active industry linkages and internships, with the student association RISE conducting webinars, training programmes and technical events.
- Four faculty members are recognised as research supervisors under VTU, Belagavi.
