Language Laboratory — ORELL Digital Language Lab (DLL)

The department's Language Laboratory runs the ORELL Digital Language Lab (DLL), a software-driven, technology-enabled environment designed to enhance students' proficiency in English and other languages through interactive, audio-visual and activity-based learning. It develops communication skills, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and listening comprehension, strengthening all four Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW) skills. Sessions are conducted through live demonstrations of the software followed by interactive activities based on audio-visual lectures on Communicative English, improving students' listening and speaking skills, building confidence and creating awareness of the importance of practising advanced English vocabulary for effective communication. For students, it improves pronunciation and communication, enhances listening comprehension and speaking confidence, develops correct grammar usage, encourages self-paced independent learning and provides immediate feedback to improve language accuracy.
