Overview
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, started in 2006, is an interdisciplinary department of Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkote, that seeks to make technologists legally, linguistically, socially and ethically conscious individuals. Over the years, various subjects of humanities and social sciences have been introduced to widen the intellectual horizon of technical students. Today, the department functions at the intersections of communication, languages, Constitution of India, Intellectual Property Rights, Soft Skills, Universal Human Values, Scientific Foundations of Health and Innovation and Design Thinking. It focuses on students' inner character so that they contribute to building a value-based society.
