The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research addressing real-world challenges through AI-driven solutions. The department's major research focus areas include:

  • Medical Image Analysis: AI-based diagnosis of retinal diseases, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, pneumonia, brain tumors, and other healthcare applications using Deep Learning and Explainable AI.
  • Biometrics & Document Analysis: Intelligent systems for face recognition, fingerprint recognition, signature verification, OCR, handwritten document analysis, and digital document authentication.
  • Smart Agriculture: AI applications for crop disease detection, yield prediction, soil analysis, precision farming, and smart irrigation using computer vision and IoT.
  • Faculty and students actively publish research in reputed journals and conferences, secure research grants, undertake interdisciplinary projects, and promote innovation through the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Computer Vision, IoT, and Robotics, developing AI-driven solutions for healthcare, agriculture, and intelligent automation.
