The Basaveshwar Engineering College one of the premier institutions under the auspices of BVV Sangha, is established in the year 1963. The college is Karnataka Government Aided Institution, Affiliated to VTU, Belgaum and approved by AICTE, Accredited by NBA and a lead Institute under World Bank assisted project TEQIP. At present, it offers the degree programme in ten disciplines, eight postgraduate programmes in four disciplines and MCA programme. The departments of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Industrial Production Engineering have been recognized as research centers by VTU and offer M.Sc. (Engg) by research and Ph.D. Programme. Faculty members of the College are actively involved in executing number of R&D and consulting projects from Government Agencies like DRDO, DST, CSIR, KSCSTand TEQIP sponsored research projects.
