Preliminary meet of alumni at Bengaluru  was organised at Institute of Engineers. The meeting started with an appeal by Dr.S.A.Angadi to all the alumni to maximize the participation to the Sambhrama, the silver jubilee celebrations of Department of Computer science and Engineering, BEC Bagalkot
 The preliminary meet was scheduled on 22nd of Jan 2011 but due to sudden call of ‘Karnataka Bandh’ on the day many of the Alumni could not attend the meet. Even in these conditions some alumni ventured out and attended the meet and participated actively to support the endeavor of the department in bringing together the alumni. Some have voluntarily accepted to maximize registration from their batches. The preliminary alumni meet was fruitful in the sense that it has given good start to the preparation of ‘Sambhrama’. It was decided to get nominations from alumni for high achieving alumni awards. A Bengaluru chapter was established. It was also decided to make the Silver Jubilee website more informative. The alumni were requested to send the articles technical otherwise for publication in FOCUS BYTES magazine tobe brought out on the occasion. All the alumni are requested to send the articles latest by 31st  January 2011.
Let us all take the enthusiasm ignited at the meet forward. The department requests all the alumni to attend the SAMBHRAMA meet in large number and bring their college mates.
