The department of information Science and Engineering was established in the year 1999 with an initial intake of 30 students. With the growth in demand from student fraternity the intake has been enhanced to a strength of 90. The department is a pioneer in offering B.E. in Information Science and Engineering course in northern Karnataka. The department has well-qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic faculty members. Many faculty members have published technical papers in different national and international conferences and also in refereed journals.
The specialization areas of the department include Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Software testing and practice, Advanced database management systems, Networking technologies, Security practices, Multimedia computing, Grid computing, etc.
The department has well equipped, independent laboratories with the state-of-art computing facilities and with necessary softwares like Windows, Linux, Oracle 9i, most of the compilers, Simulation softwares, Visual studio, Adobe Suite, MSOffice, etc.
RISE – Rays of Information Science and Engineers – is a forum of ISE students to organize activities like Programming Contest, Paper Presentations, Quiz, Seminars, Sports, and Cultural competitions.
All the activities of the department are student centric and the department aims to train the students to meet the current social, technological, and industrial demands. |
