The Department has well
equipped laboratories in the areas of Digital
Electronics, Fiber Optics Communication, Microwave
Communication, Microprocessors, Micro Controllers and
Computer Network, multimedia communications etc. The
exclusive computing facility includes state-of-art
computer systems and software tools like PSPICE, ORCAD,
ECAD, CADSTAR, VHDL simulation, synthesis tools and
other allied packages, Antenna Modelling Systems and
Microwave benches are made avaiable to the students
for their projects work.
The Department has a tie
up with a chip industry called KARMIC, Manipal in
connection with VLSI and embedded System activities of
the Department. A couple of books in the specialized
areas are published by the faculty members.
The department
regularly organizes several seminars and workshops to
enhance the skills of both students and teachers under
TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement
Programme of World Bank), ACME (Association for
Communication and Modern Electronics), AICTE (All
India Council for Technical Education) and CSIR
(Council of Scientific and Industrial Research).
