Industrial
and Production Engineering is a sandwich course of
Industrial Engineering and Production Engineering. The
graduates of this branch get training in
state-of-the-art technologies in manufacturing such as
CAD/CAM, CAE, FMS and CIM and they are also exposed to
latest concepts and techniques of Management Sciences.
Curriculum is designed with the intention to prepare
the graduate students to solve the problems related to
both production and management. The management
concepts and their applications are taught through
case studies, which will help them to solve real life
problems. The department also established the
laboratories in Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics,
Metrology, CAD/CAM/CAE and Management Science. The CAD
center is equipped with IDEAS, MS.Project, ANSYS,
AutoDesk's Inventor Series 6.0 etc. Enhancement of the
facilities in these laboratories is underway with the
help of grants received from World Bank under TEQIP.
The department also has the experience of conducting
Entrepreneurship programmes for the benefits of
students and the public and society at large.
