Speacialised Areas: Computer Application to Power Systems, Power System Analysis and Stability, High Voltage Engineering, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, Microprocessor based System Design, WindEnergy System.

The Department has well-established Electrical Machines, High Voltage Engineering, Power System, Instrumentation, Microprocessor (8085/8086) and Power System Protection laboratories. The exclusive Computer Center has the state-of-art systems. The Software packages include MATLAB, My Power and ECAD tools and different language processors.

The Department has a well furnished seminar hall. The students regularly visit industries and different power generations stations.
